Our staff spotlight this month is on our firm’s founding partner Michelle Sinkovits! Some of you may know Michelle as an award-winning family law and real estate attorney who gets her clients good results. But do you know about her inspirations? Her family? Or her hobbies?

What inspired you to form the G&S firm?
I knew I always wanted to go off on my own, and a large part of that was that I wanted to be able to practice in a way that was best for my clients, which you can’t always do when working for someone else. Stephanie and I would always talk about starting a practice one day. The timing was right, so we went for it! I can’t believe it’s been over ten years, but it has truly been one of the best decisions of my life.
What led you to focus on family law/real estate law?
I love helping people through major life transitions – divorce, marriage & prenuptial agreements, and purchasing or selling real estate. On the family law side of our practice, we are dealing with the things that are most precious to our clients: their kids. As a mother myself, I understand how important it is to have effective and passionate representation.
Why do you love this field of work?
The gratitude we receive from clients is what makes me really love this work – to know that I am creating a lasting impact in people’s lives.
Tell us all about your family!
My husband and I married (in Paris!) in 2016 and started our family in 2019. We have two boys (3 and 1.5 years old) and are expecting our final baby, a girl, in June of this year. We have one cat, Maddy, who would still prefer to be an “only child,” so she is in for another surprise in a few months.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I’m pretty busy with two toddler boys! I also enjoy traveling, reading, walking, and trying new restaurants.
What’s your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is Forrest Gump. No matter what, I can always watch it!
What is a surprising fact about yourself or hidden talent that you have?
Prior to kids and COVID, my husband and I have gone to 12 countries in less than five years just together. We love to travel and hope to bring the love of travel to our kids. This proved to be a challenge when we learned they hate flying! But hoping that gets easier as they get older.
