Our spotlight this month features Kathy Guttenberg, We sat down with her to find out more about what motivates and inspires her to do what she does. Here’s what she had to say…

When did you join G&S? What prompted the move?

I joined G&S in September 2023.  I made a lateral move as a family law paralegal to G&S because the people and the environment where I work are equally as important to me as the work I do.  Being part of a hard-working team that makes the care and satisfaction of their clients a top priority is essential and that is exactly what I have found with G&S.

Have you ever worked at a law firm? Tell us about your experience.

I started working in law firms right out of high school and have worked with clients in many areas of law over the years.  I have been a paralegal for over 20 years, with my primary focus in Family Law.

What’s your favorite part of the job so far?

My favorite part of the job is working with people and making a positive difference in their lives. Family Law can involve complex, overwhelming, and highly emotional matters.  Being able to provide the support our clients need and help them navigate every step of the way is what I love about my job.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I am married with four kids, a big bear Chocolate Lab, and a mischievous cat.  I love spending time with my family and friends, being outdoors, and reading.

What are you watching/obsessing over lately?

Currently, I am watching Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben and I am also admittedly a huge Yellowstone fan.

Do you have any advice for someone starting in this field?

For anyone starting out in this field, it is important to keep learning and take on new challenges.  I think the most important advice I can give, however, is to never lose sight of the why and the who – why you are in this field and the clients you are here for.
