Our staff spotlight this month features Patty Wagner, one of the newest members of our paralegal team. We sat down with her to find out more about what motivates and inspires her to do what she does.
When did you join G&S? What prompted the move?
I joined Greenberg & Sinkovits in September 2023. I was looking to start a new chapter after I sold a small business, and this felt right.
Have you ever worked at a law firm? Tell us about your experience.
I have! I was actually an attorney for many years and passed the bar exam in 1995. I worked exclusively in family law for the entirety of my career but eventually stopped renewing my license when I pursued other opportunities outside of law. Everything old is new again!
What’s your favorite part of the job?
My favorite part is learning new areas of law – I now work in just about everything the firm does BUT family law.
Who or what has been the biggest influence or inspiration in your career?
I would say the partners at the first firm I worked for influenced the way I approach virtually all of my interactions in business, whether law or otherwise. They stood on principles of open, honest, prompt, and frequent communication. Communicating honestly and regularly with clients and co-workers alike has never let me down.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Most of my free time is spent with my family, including our dog Theo. We especially enjoy going out to dinner on Saturdays, planning and enjoying our annual family vacations which are usually either a trip to Disney/Universal or a cruise (sometimes both), and cheering on the Indiana Hoosiers and the Carolina Gamecocks.
What are you watching/obsessing over lately?
I love Top Chef, Great British Baking Show and just rewatched all of the Jurassic Park movies!
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I’ve been to Mardi Gras five times, have been an extra in two movies, and was a secret shopper as a side gig for a while.
