Our staff spotlight this month features Dawn Ray, our paralegal who has been with us for the last 3.5 years. We sat down with her to find out more about what motivates and inspires her to do what she does.
When did you join G&S? What prompted the move?
I’ve been with Greenberg and Sinkovits for about 3.5 years. Previously, I had worked for Dan Greenberg. When he retired, Stephanie and Michelle took over his real estate practice, and I stayed on.  Friday, October 30, 2020 was my last day at Law Offices Daniel M Greenberg, Chartered and on Monday, November 2, 2020, I began at Greenberg & Sinkovits, LLC. No downtime and no need to file for unemployment — which worked out well for me!
Have you ever worked at a law firm? Tell us about your experience.
I did an internship with Dan Greenberg during school, and we clicked. I never left! I received my paralegal certificate and began a 33-year stint working with Dan in February of 1987.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
I enjoy helping people successfully sell their homes or buy a new one.
Who or what has been the biggest influence or inspiration in your career?
Dan Greenberg, for sure. I learned so much from him in how to do my job the right way, paying attention to detail, keeping on top of deadlines, and trying to help clients with their real estate goals.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Spending time outdoors, walking for fitness, antique and thrift store shopping (or browsing), cooking and baking, taking photos, and dining out with friends.
What are you watching/obsessing over lately?
Always General Hospital (I’ve been watching off and on since the wedding of Luke and Laura), the One Chicago series (Med, Fire and PD); Schitt’s Creek, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Bones, Seinfeld and Friends reruns.
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I was a contestant on Bozo Circus Grand Prize Game when I was in 3rd grade. Also, my first job was as a shepherd for a local veterinarian.
Do you have any advice for someone starting out in this field?
Details matter.
